OneCare (Protection For Life) is OnePath's flagship life-insurance product, marking 20 years in 2025. The product covers seven cover types: Life, TPD, Trauma, Child, Extra Care, Income Secure and Business Expense. Life and Income Secure can sit inside super through OneCare Super or outside super through OneCare. The issuer is Zurich Australia Limited (ABN 92 000 010 195, AFSL 232510) under the OnePath Life brand (PDS line 14, 1 October 2025 issue; PDS line 10 for 20-year milestone; PDS lines 82-100 for the cover suite).
Life Cover pays a benefit on death or terminal illness (PDS line 82). It can be held inside or outside super. Standard lump-sum covers (Life, TPD, Trauma) include indexation and other built-in benefits across the OneCare suite.
TPD Cover provides financial support if an illness or injury stops you returning to work or to normal domestic duties (PDS lines 83-84). It is available inside or outside super.
Trauma Cover pays a benefit on diagnosis of a serious illness covered under one of three benefit levels. Severity Trauma pays a full benefit on a focused list of severe events (PDS lines 31-37 of onepath.json mirror the PDS structure). Trauma Comprehensive pays a full benefit across a broader condition list. Trauma Premier pays full benefits plus partial benefits on an even broader set. The Life Insurance Code of Practice minimum medical definitions apply to the first $2 million of Trauma Comprehensive and Premier cover (PDS lines 30-40). A 90-day qualifying period applies to events under Comprehensive or Premier.
Income Secure Cover replaces up to 70% of monthly income if you cannot work because of illness or injury (PDS lines 97-99). The monthly benefit can be used to pay bills and maintain essential expenses while disabled.
Child Cover insures children for trauma events including cancer, terminal illness and death (PDS lines 87-88). Extra Care Cover tops up OneCare with three add-on benefits: Accidental Death Cover, Terminal Illness Cover, and Extended Needle Stick Cover (designed for medical professionals) (PDS lines 89-92). Business Expense Cover is available under OneCare for self-employed insureds (PDS line 100).

OneCare is one of the few products on the panel that offers three benefit levels for trauma cover. You can choose between a focused list of severe events or a broader condition list with optional partial benefits.
OneCare is issued by Zurich Australia Limited (PDS line 14). OnePath Life and Zurich are sister brands within the same legal entity.
Under Extra Care Cover, the Extended Needle Stick Cover provides extra protection for medical professionals exposed to needle-stick risk (PDS lines 89-92).
For Trauma Comprehensive and Trauma Premier policies issued on or after 1 July 2017, the Life Insurance Code of Practice medical definitions apply to the first $2 million of cover. Claims are assessed against whichever definition is more favourable (PDS lines 30-47).
